1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Free Image Reducer website at freeimagereducer.com ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you may not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Free Image Reducer provides a client-side utility designed to compress and reduce the file size of digital images (including JPG, PNG, and WebP formats) directly within your web browser. All processing is performed locally on your device using client-side Web Workers and Canvas APIs.
3. Acceptable Use & User Responsibilities
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You are solely responsible for:
- Ensuring you own or have obtained all necessary legal rights, licenses, and permissions to process, alter, and download the images you load into the tool.
- Refraining from attempting to reverse-engineer, exploit, or maliciously disrupt the website infrastructure.
- Not loading files containing malware, harmful scripts, or automated scraping scripts intended to impair the site's accessibility for others.
4. Intellectual Property & Content Ownership
Your Content Remains Yours: We do not claim any ownership, copyright, or intellectual property rights over any images, photos, or files you process using Free Image Reducer. Because files are processed in your browser memory and never transmitted to our servers, we have no access to or copies of your work.
Website IP: All code, interface designs, logos, typography arrangements, and branding comprising the Free Image Reducer site are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws and belong to the site operator.
5. Compression Results & Target-Size Limitations
While Free Image Reducer employs sophisticated binary search algorithms to hit specified target file sizes (such as 20 KB, 50 KB, 100 KB, 200 KB, or 500 KB), we do not guarantee that every image can achieve every requested target size or maintain identical visual quality:
- Information Entropy: High-resolution, highly detailed photos have physical entropy limits below which further compression requires aggressive quantization or resolution reduction.
- Lossless Formats: PNG is a lossless format. Achieving small file sizes with PNG may require converting to lossy WebP or downsampling dimensions.
- Ceiling Metric: Target sizes are treated as ceilings. The engine seeks the closest valid output size at or below the target, which may result in a file slightly smaller than the specified ceiling.
- Inspection Responsibility: You are responsible for inspecting the output using our before/after comparison tool prior to using the file for official submissions, print, or publishing.
6. Browser & Device Constraints
Performance, compression speed, and maximum file handling depend directly on your device's hardware specifications (CPU, RAM) and your browser's support for modern web standards such as Web Workers, OffscreenCanvas, and modern image encoders. Very large images (e.g. over 50 MB) may exceed local browser memory limits on older devices.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every browser or operating system version.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Free Image Reducer, its creators, and operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages—including but not limited to loss of data, rejected application submissions, missed deadlines, or visual degradation—arising from your use or inability to use the Service. Always retain backups of your original, uncompressed files.
9. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to revise or update these Terms at any time. Any changes will become effective immediately upon posting to this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of the Service following any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
