Convert HEIC in three steps

01

Upload HEIC Photos

Drag and drop up to 10 .heic or .heif files, or pick them from your device. Each photo is validated by actually decoding it.

02

Convert Automatically

Photos convert one by one in your browser with live per-photo status. Set JPEG quality and background fill before or during the batch.

03

Download JPGs

Grab each JPG individually with its original filename, or take everything home as one ZIP archive. Failed files never block the rest.

Why Convert HEIC Photos From Apple Devices?

iPhones and iPads save photos as HEIC by default because the format stores excellent quality in small files. The tradeoff is compatibility: many Windows apps, web forms, and older devices only accept JPG. Converting to standard JPEG keeps the full resolution while making the photo open absolutely everywhere.

  • HEIC is the default camera format on modern iPhones and iPads.
  • JPG opens on every device, browser, printer, and upload form.
  • Conversion keeps original dimensions and photo orientation.
  • JPG files may be larger than the HEIC originals — that is normal.

Local Decoding, Careful JPEG Encoding

Each photo is decoded once, entirely in your browser tab, then composited over your chosen background color and encoded as a genuine image/jpeg blob at your quality setting — so transparency becomes your color, never accidental black. EXIF orientation is honored where the browser supports it, dimensions are preserved exactly, and nothing is uploaded to any server at any point.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which files can I convert?

Files ending in .heic or .heif (up to 10 per batch, 50 MB each). Files are accepted by extension or MIME type and then validated by real decoding, so renamed non-photos are rejected with a clear message.

Will the JPG be smaller than my HEIC?

Often it will be larger. HEIC is a newer, more efficient format than JPEG, so an equivalent-quality JPG naturally takes more bytes. Convert for compatibility, and lower the quality slider if file size matters.

What happens to Live Photos or burst HEIC files?

If a file contains multiple pictures, the first one is converted. Multi-frame sequences and embedded video are not extracted.

Do transparent HEIC images keep transparency?

JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas use your selected background fill color (white by default). Pick any custom color before converting.

What if some photos fail to convert?

Failures are shown per photo with a reason and a Retry button. Successful conversions stay available — one bad file never discards the rest of the batch.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Decoding, conversion, and ZIP packaging all run locally in your browser; the decoder library itself loads from this site. Photos never leave your device.
